Is TinyTax a Subscription or a One-Off Fee?

How Clear Books Tax Pricing Works

Clear Books Tax uses an annual subscription, not a one-off payment per filing. You pay once per year, and that covers all the filings you make during that year — including resubmissions if HMRC or Companies House request changes.

There is no charge per submission. Submitting your CT600 to HMRC and submitting your accounts to Companies House are both included in the one plan.

What Does "Free" Mean?

You can use Clear Books Tax completely free until you are ready to submit:

  • Enter your profit and loss figures
  • Complete your balance sheet
  • Preview your CT600 and accounts
  • Review your tax calculation
No payment is required for any of these steps. The subscription is only needed when you click Submit.

The Two Submit Buttons

When you are ready to file, you will see two separate buttons — one to submit your CT600 to HMRC and one to submit your accounts to Companies House. Both are included in your subscription. You do not pay separately for each one.

If you have not yet subscribed, clicking either button will take you to the subscription screen. Once you subscribe, you can submit to both HMRC and Companies House without any additional payment.

Is VAT Added to the Price?

Yes. All prices shown on the Clear Books Tax pricing page exclude VAT. VAT at 20% is added at checkout. The checkout page shows the full amount including VAT before you pay.

Common Questions

I thought it was a one-off fee — why is there a subscription?

Clear Books Tax is a subscription service. The annual plan covers your filing for that year, including any resubmissions. You can cancel after filing if you only need it for one year — see the cancellation guide for details.

Do I pay separately for HMRC and Companies House?

No. A single subscription covers both. The two buttons in the filing interface are separate steps, but they are bundled under the same plan.

What happens if my filing is rejected?

You can resubmit at no extra cost during your subscription period. There is no per-attempt charge.
